Rondilynn “Roni” Smith has been named Assistant Principal of North Elementary School, effective July 1.
Ms. Smith brings more than 12 years of experience in elementary education, including her time as a classroom teacher and her current role as a behavior specialist in O’Fallon District 90, where she has worked closely with teachers and administrators to support the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
“This opportunity is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Smith. “As a former student of the Alton School District, it is truly a full circle moment to return to the community that helped shape who I am today.”
Smith earned her Bachelor’s degree in elementary Education from Western Governors University, along with a Master’s degree and Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University.
Ms. Smith is deeply committed to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally. She has extensive experience supporting Social Emotional Learning initiatives,which has strengthened her belief that students thrive when they feel safe, supported and valued.. She is passionate about collaborating with families and staff to strengthen school culture, support positive student behavior, and ensure every child feels connected and successful.
“I am excited to get to know the students, staff and families of the North Elementary community,” she added. “Together, we will continue to create an environment where every child is encouraged to learn, grow and reach their full potential.”
